popper argued that truth cannot truly exist but we can get close to truth with the concept of verisimilitude, thats the latin for truth-likeness. a better theory will be more truth like than the theory that was replaced.
this shows how knowledge evolves. theories are constantly being replaced in a conjectured, refutation cycle. theories are thought of in conjectured and then abandoned for a better theory in refutation
